Change Capture and Synchronization Strategy for Heterogeneous Database

摘要: 数据变化捕捉与同步策略是分布式应用中数据同步过程的2大问题。在分析现有实现方案不足的基础上,提出一种基于触发器的高效通用数据变化捕捉方法,设计实现了跨DBMS(Oracle, Sybase和MS SQL Server)的相应同步策略。理论分析及实验结果表明,提出的方法和策略不但能在主流商业数据库间有效地实现异构数据库同步,而且保证了用户应用的自治性和数据库数据的可见性。

Abstract: Change capture and synchronization strategy are two major issues for data synchronization in distributed applications. On analyzing main insufficiencies of schemes hitherto, a common efficient trigger-based method of change capture is proposed, and a corresponding synchronization strategy across DBMS such as Oracle, Sybase, and MS SQL Server is designed and implemented. Theoretical analysis and experiments justify the method and strategy for practical data replications between these main commercial heterogeneous databases while still holding the autonomy of client systems and the availability of data.
