Load Balancing Algorithm in LTE-FDD and eHRPD Overlap Coverage System

摘要: 利用3G eHRPD和4G LTE-FDD移动通信系统进行混合组网时,每种网络制式下的小区在用户增多时都有可能过载。针对该问题,提出一种新的负载均衡算法。以网络资源利用率为参考对系统内的用户进行异系统垂直切换,使混合组网后的系统负载得到均衡。仿真结果表明,在保证无线链路丢失率不受显著影响的前提下,该算法可使LTE-FDD与eHRPD重叠覆盖的蜂窝小区平均吞吐量得到提高,并能找到使吞吐率最大的最佳切换阈值。

Abstract: In view of the hybrid wireless communication system of eHRPD in 3G and LTE-FDD in 4G,the cell of each network type will overload with the increase of users.Aiming at this problem,this paper proposes a new load balancing algorithm.It refers to the network resource utilization rate to vertically switch users between different systems,so as to balance the load of the system in the hybrid network.Simulation results show that,for the LTE-FDD and eHRPD overlap coverage system,the proposed algorithm can enhance the average throughput while the wireless link lose rate is unaffected.Moreover,the best handover thresholds can be obtained which make the throughput largest.
