Network Tomography Technology Based on Time Threshold Loss Rate Estimation

摘要: 基于现有单播测量技术研究,提出一种改进的单播测量方法——增加时间阈值的测量法,对网络链路丢包率进行测量。该方法通过为探测包的发送方式设定阈值,即设定同一数据包对间的时间阈值与不同数据包对间的时间阈值,并通过对收集到的数据使用伪似然估计方法PMLE计算得到网络链路丢包率。实验结果表明,采用该方法可以获得更多的有效测量数据,测量结果更接近链路性能的真实情况。

Abstract: Aiming at the existing shortage of the unicast measurement method, this paper adopts a new measurement method——adding time threshold. By setting time threshold of sending packets, it sets up time threshold between two packets belonging to one pair of B2B and another time threshold between two different B2Bs, then depending on collecting packets, makes use of Pseudo Maximum Likelihood Estimation(PMLE) to obtain the loss rate of links. Experimental results prove that the improved technique can get more useful measurement data and make the measurement result more accurate.
