Variable Bit Rate Control for AVS Coding on Storage Application

摘要: 针对数字视频存储应用,分析二次编码可变码率(VBR)控制的原理和特性,提出一种固定容量视频存储应用的可变码率控制算法。对序列进行恒定码率编码,统计并记录重要的编码信息。在数据处理阶段分析每个场景的复杂度等视频特性并预分配比特数。对同一个序列进行二次VBR编码。实验结果表明,采用该算法能获得PSNR波动很小的高质量视频。

Abstract: Aiming at the application of digital video storage, this paper analyzes the theory and characteristics of Variable Bit Rate(VBR) control for secondary coding, and proposes a VBR algorithm for applications of fixed-size video storage. It dose Consistent Bit Rate(CBR) coding on the sequence, counts and notes the important coding information. During the data processing process, it analyzes the video characteristics of every scene such as the complexity and allocates the bits in advance. Secondary coding is done for the same sequence by using VBR coding. Experimental results show that this algorithm can realize high quality video with smaller PSNR variation.
