Balanced Multiwavelet Filter and Its Application in Image Coding

平衡多小波滤波器及其在图像编码中的应用

Abstract: The concept of balance is introduced to the biorthogonal multiwavelets, the related balanced filter is constructed. For the transformed image, vetor quantization and SPIHT techonology are applied into image compression. Experiment results show that, without any prefilter, its performance is superior to non-balanced multiwavelets and attains better PSNR and coding effect.

摘要: 将平衡概念引入双正交多小波变换,给出了相应的滤波器构造方法,利用了矢量量化和SPIHT零树编码技术,通过图像实验测试该滤波器的性能。实验结果表明,该方法不需要作任何预滤波,双正交平衡多小波滤波器性能优于非平衡多小波压缩方法,并得到了较好的峰值信噪比和编码效果。
