Abstract:
Ultra-Wideband(UWB) is an attractive physical layer technique in Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs). It has some unique characteristics which pose significant challenges and great opportunities in the design of MAC layer. After describing IR-UWB signal model, some open research issues in this field are discussed in detail. Some recent novel MAC protocols for UWB networks are reviewed and analyzed. Taking account of application requirements, several future research directions are put forward.

摘要: 超宽带技术凭借其诸多优势成为无线传感器网络物理层的绝佳选择,同时也为无线传感器网络的MAC协议设计带来了挑战。该文介绍了超宽带信号模型,讨论了UWB MAC协议设计中亟待解决的问题,总结和分析了近年来提出的几种典型的UWB MAC协议和有代表性的研究成果,并展望了下一步的研究方向。
