Image Enhancement Algorithm Based on Local Mean and Standard Deviation

Abstract: Aiming at traditional local image enhancement algorithm, this paper designs a new algorithm, it uses Local Mean(LM) and Local Standard Deviation(LSD). By comparing the LM and LSD to the whole image mean and standard deviation, it enhances the area where has low LM and LSD and preserves the other area. Experimental results show that the method can enhance the region where has low contrast, gray scale and preserve the other region, it provides satisfied image for the next processing.

摘要: 针对传统图像局部增强算法,提出一种基于图像局部均值和标准差增强图像细节的算法。采用局部均值和标准差限定的方法,使低对比度和较暗的区域得到相应增强,对高对比度和较亮的区域保持不变。实验结果表明,该算法能够有效地增强低对比度低灰度的区域而保持其他区域不变,为图像的进一步处理提供满意的结果。
