Improvement of Traffic-adaptive Media Access Control Protocol in Wireless Sensor Network

WSN流量自适应MAC协议的改进

Abstract: Aiming at the disadvantage of traffic-adaptive Media Access Control(MAC) Protocol, this paper gives an improved scheme of dynamic duty cycle mechanism. Based on S-MAC and TDMA traffic-adaptive MAC protocol, it introduces the dynamic duty cycle mechanism, the original listening/sleep cycle of S-MAC protocol is divided into several short listening/sleep cycles to transmit data repeatedly. NS2 simulation results show that the improved protocol can effectively lower system delay and power consumption, maintain higher throughput and achieve smooth switch of protocols.

摘要: 在流量自适应媒体访问控制(MAC)协议中,容易产生吞吐量抖动的问题。为此,提出一种动态占空比机制的改进方案。在基于S- MAC和TDMA流量自适应MAC协议基础上,通过引入动态占空比机制,将原S-MAC协议的侦听/睡眠周期,划分为多个短侦听/睡眠周期,以实现多次数据传输。NS2仿真结果表明,该方案能减少系统时延和能量消耗,同时维持较高的吞吐量,实现协议的平滑切换。
