Abstract: A novel Directed Diffusion(DD) routing protocol for Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) based on network coding is presented. Randomized linear network coding is used in the processes of establishing Directed Diffusion(DD) routing. The intermediate nodes performs coding on received packets, then forwards them. The number of packets transmission is reduced. The use of bandwidth is more efficient. Simulation results based on NS2 show that compared with the original DD routing protocol, the average remain energy of nodes and network throughput are both increased efficiently.
