摘要: 提出了一种全新的结合层次分布和功能分布的实现方法,所提方法通过有选择性地卸载某些链接层和线卡的接口操作,来减轻可扩展性和性能的瓶颈。并给出了该方法在一个具有128Gbps 交换容量的路由器上的具体实现。该方法可以满足高性能路由器的需要且具有较好的应用前景。

Abstract: This paper discusses the scaling limitations of centralized control protocols and presents a novel method to distribute the functionality of control plane protocols within a router. The proposed method relives the scalability and performance bottlenecks by selectively off-loading certain link-layer and interface operations to linecards. This paper also describes an implementation of this method on a 128Gbps switched router. The method can meet the requirement of high performance router and has a good application future
