Abstract: This paper focuses on remote sensing image processing using grid computing. It analyzes the problems in high-powered remote sensing image processing firstly, then presents a spatial information grid(SIG) model to solve the key problems on sharing of distributed data and algorithms,processing and transferring of tremendous data. Moreover, it gives out the implementation of a prototype system making use of Globus toolkit 3 based on open grid service architecture(OGSA). The experimental results show the real value of the application of grid computing on remote sensing image processing.
