车牌字符分割的研究和实现

Abstract: The car plate recognition system is one of the important components of intelligent traffic system, and the plate character dividing is a key technology for car plate recognition. In this paper, a solution based on plate projection is introduced. According to the statistic characteristic of the plate horizontal projection, a threshold to incise plate horizontally can be found in virtue of polynomial approaching. The vertical incising is done basing the shape characteristic of the plate vertical projection. Detailed description can be found. This algorithm’s validity is demonstrated by the experiments.

摘要: 从车牌投影出发,根据车牌水平投影的统计特征,借助于多项式拟合的方法,找到阈值进行水平方向上的分割;并根据车牌竖直投影的形状特征,进行竖直方向上的分割。详细描述了车牌分割算法,实验结果验证了算法的有效性。
