Guidelines

When preparing your manuscript, please consider the following guidelines to ensure that your paper conforms to the Chinese National Standards on the Format of Science and Technology Journals. Otherwise, the editorial office may request multiple rounds of revisions.

1. Please use the submission system to upload your manuscript as a Word file (avoid using a compressed file format). Please add remarks if there are exceptional circumstances.

2. The author information you provide in the submission system should match the information in your Word manuscript. Once the information is submitted, the system will not allow any changes. Please ensure the accuracy of author names, authorship order, and affiliations, and indicate the corresponding author. Postgraduates in school are required to obtain the consent of their mentor if they want to submit a paper, and the paper must include the name of the mentor.

3. The description in the paper should be concise and organized. The title must be within 20 Chinese characters and English words (numbers and punctuation included). The abstract should be described in four parts: objective, method, result and conclusion. The Chinese abstract should contain no fewer than 400 Chinese characters. There should be 3~8 keywords, and a Chinese keyword cannot entirely be an English abbreviation composed of capital letters (which means you should add Chinese descriptive words such as "agreement", "technology" and so on).

4. The Chinese title, author names, affiliations, abstract, keywords, captions of charts and tables, and the reference list should be translated into English that strictly corresponds to the Chinese part.

5. The affiliation of each author should be specified under the paper title in the following order: Department, Institution, City, Province, and postcode.

6. Please specify the sources of funding in your paper, including the category, project name, and number in your paper. Please also describe any awards given to your paper. Papers that have received significant awards will be prioritized in processing and rewarded. If the paper is patented, please include the patent name and number.

7. All submitted manuscripts will be screened by the Academic Misconduct Literature Check System (AMLC) developed by CNKI. Please ensure the originality of your manuscript. Any detected misconduct, including data falsification, plagiarism, or infringement, will be reported to the relevant authority at your institution. Once an author is found responsible for severe plagiarism or duplicate submissions, Computer Engineering will not accept articles with them listed as the first author for a period of 2 years.

8. We recommend including a minimum of 25 references, with a preference for literature published within the last 5 years. References should be listed numerically from 1 according to the order they are cited. The format is as follows:

(1) For articles in periodicals: names of the authors (for one to three authors, list all, and for more than three authors, list the former three and “et al”). title of the article [J]. name of the journal, year, volume(issue):specific page numbers.

(2) For books: names of the authors (for one to three authors, list all, and for more than three authors, list the former three and “et al”). title of the monograph [M]. location:publisher, year:specific page numbers.

(3) For dissertations: name of the author. title of the dissertation[D].city of the institution: name of the institution, year.

(4) For articles of conferences: names of the authors (for one to three authors, list all, and for more than three authors, list the former three and “et al”). title of the article [C]//name of the conference. Location: publisher, year:specific page numbers.

9. Graphics and tables should have a caption, be cited in the text, and be numbered consecutively. We require clear resolution of graphics, tables and formulas, and will not accept the ones that have been scanned. Computer Engineering is printed in black and white, so graphics and tables will not appear in color. Please add remarks if there are exceptional circumstances. Tables should not be in a graphic format. The Chinese characters in graphics should be displayed in the “STZhongsong” font, while the English parts should be in “Times New Roman”.

10. Please provide the contact information of the former three authors, including their long-term cellphone numbers, landline numbers, and email addresses. If the first author is a member/premium member/student member of China Computer Federation (CCF), please specify the membership level and member ID. We will provide an 85% discount on the publication fee once the manuscript is accepted. Manuscripts without specified CCF membership information will not be provided with a discount. Please note that the CCF membership only affects the publication fee discount, and does not influence the editorial decision on manuscript acceptance.

11. All manuscripts must pass the confidentiality review by the affiliated institutions before being submitted to Computer Engineering. Before a manuscript is accepted, the paper version of its confidentiality review certificate and the copyright transfer agreement should be mailed to the editorial office. Otherwise, the manuscript will not be accepted.

12. Computer Engineering is indexed by multiple online databases, and the editorial office provides royalties and author payments in a lump sum. If you prefer that the paper not be shared by other databases, please specify it in submission.

13. Computer Engineering is a cooperative partner of CNKI for the initial online release of academic papers. This partnership ensures that all articles accepted by the editorial office and finalized by authors will be promptly released on CNKI. If you prefer the article not to be released in this manner, please specify it in your submission.

14. For additional formatting requirements, please see “Paper Template ” on the Download  page.

15. Authors must ensure that no part of the manuscript is being considered for publication or has been published elsewhere. Computer Engineering does not permit duplicate submissions or publications. The translation of a published article will not be accepted, regardless of the languages of the original text and the translation.

16. Once the manuscript is submitted, the submission system will not allow any changes to the manuscript except those required by the editors of Computer Engineering. Please check before submission.

17. If you need to inquire about the manuscript processing status, please visit the “Author Login” page and log in.

18. The actual publication time of accepted manuscripts may slightly change according to scheduling of issues. The review results of a submitted manuscript can be expected within 30 days. If the review process exceeds 2 months, you can inform the editorial office of your decision about the manuscript, and handle it on your own once we acknowledge your decision. If you need to fast-track an article due to special circumstances, please make a call to the editorial office of Computer Engineering to request it after your manuscript is accepted (we will not permit any fast-track request for an unaccepted manuscript). The standard publication cycle for this journal is approximately 12 months unless a fast-track request is proposed.

19. Charges: The charges include a reviewing fee and a publication fee. The reviewing fee is 200 CNY for each manuscript. The publication fee is 500 CNY per page, with a cap of RMB 12,000 per paper (i.e., 24 pages). No additional publication fees apply beyond this limit. Waiver status will not influence the editorial decision about whether to accept the manuscript.
