Open Access Statement
Computer Engineering flipped to an open access model starting in 2006. Since the first issue of 2006, once published, the full texts of all articles are immediately and permanently available on the journal’s website for free access. This allows all readers to read, download, copy, redistribute the full texts of articles for free, or use them for any other lawful purpose under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
Articles published before 2006 are not subject to open access due to technical limitations. The economic rights of the copyright of these articles published in this period remain with the editorial office of Computer Engineering.
Author Rights
Authors should sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement, which transfers the copyright of the article to the editorial office of Computer Engineering. These transferred rights include (but not limited to) the rights of reproduction, distribution, communication through information network, compilation and translation. A template of Copyright Transfer Agreement can be downloaded from the “Download” page of this website.
Authors should agree to the open access policy of Computer Engineering, and permit sharing the articles and research data in third-party databases. Authors are entitled to share and use their articles under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
User Rights
All open-access articles published in Computer Engineering are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This permits authors and third-party users to copy and redistribute the articles in any medium or format as long as the license terms below are followed:
Reusers must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes to the articles were made. Reusers may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the use. Reusers may not use the articles for commercial purposes. Archiving Policy
Article Archiving
The editorial office of Computer Engineering has archived and backed up the print editions and electronic editions of all articles published since Issue 1, 2006. All readers can read and download the full texts of these articles for free on this website. In the case of discontinuation of the journal, readers may obtain the full texts of past issues from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database.
Articles published prior to Issue 1 of 2006 are not subject to open access, and the full texts of them are not provided on the official website of Computer Engineering. Readers may access the content published before 2006 through the CNKI database.
Self-Archiving
Computer Engineering allows authors to self-archive all versions of their articles, and store them in an institutional or other knowledge repository of the authors' choice.
