Abstract: As IP network originally developed for data communications is now used more and more for real-time applications, there is a need forbetter quality of service than the “best effort”. Currently there are two main efforts to provide IP QoS: the integrated services and the differentiatedservices. Because of the shortcomings and complexities, there are far from the practicality for the existing IP QoS mechanisms. This paper presents ascheme, which improves IP QoS through traffic control, and details the scheme’s main idea and implementation.

摘要: IP 网络最初设计用来进行数据通信,但现在却越来越多地被用于实时应用,这就要求IP 网络能为用户提供更好的服务质量,而不只是“尽最大努力交付”的服务。目前提出的IPQoS 方案主要分为综合服务和区分服务两大类。由于现有IP QoS 方案所存在的问题及其实现复杂性,使其离实际应用还有一定距离。该文提出了一种通过流量控制来改善IP QoS 的方案,并对其基本思想及实现作了介绍。
