Abstract: The main tracking methods of schedule and cost of software project are explained and compared. The basic principle of the earned value method is systematically described, which includes establishing work breakdown structure, estimating task property and executing project tracking. Finally, the application process of the earned value method is illustrated with an application case. This improves the method effective.
