Abstract: This paper analyzes the shortage of dynamical fur’s simulation based on Lengyel method. Considering the force which controls the displacement in mass-spring system and proposing that the spring cannot strech, it simplifies the mass-spring system into “mass-rigid rod system”. Through introducing mass-rigid rod system into Lengyel method and presenting a method for nonlinear computing the displacement of shell layers, it can simulate dynamical fur’s and the natural bending of the fur’s. The method makes use of the programmable function of GPU to accelerate the rendering, and experimental results show that the method can render the realistic fur’s in real-time.
